The scanner covers core PHP and WordPress exposure, hardening gaps, public fingerprint files, root-level artifacts, recursive backup discovery, and provider-based findings.
The hardening checks shown on the Hardening page also feed the main scanner pipeline so detection and remediation stay aligned.
Recommended action
Run a scan after activation, after major site changes, and after applying hardening changes so the dashboard reflects the latest state.
What Steel Security can do
Steel can surface per-finding actions such as quarantine workflows and hardening links when a finding supports that kind of response.
Server or hosting considerations
Recursive artifact checks are intentionally bounded for depth and time so the scan stays lightweight enough for normal WordPress admin usage.
